The Mikey Brown House, burned about 1975.

Michael Judson "Mikey" Brown was the son of William Hunt Brown and Flora Margaret Carmichael. His house was located on the north side of Richland Swamp in Robeson County in the Philadelphus community. The old Brown cemetery is a few hundred yards from its location. It has always been said that the Revolutionary Battle of Raft Swamp in 1781 began at a fence and oak tree near this house and fought northward up the Old Lowery Road. The house did not exist at the time of the battle, but the Brown family has owned and lived on the property since before the Revolution.
